Ihsan Dogramaci

Professor Ihsan Dogramaci is a Turkish Physician and Academician. He was born in town of Erbil of Ottoman Empire (now in Iraq) on April 3, 1915.
He is the founder of the Children's Hospital in Ankara, Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, the first College of Nursing and several other universities in Turkey where he also served as the Rector and Chancellor.
Ihsan Dogramaci is the only currently living signatory of the World Health Organization ( WHO )Constitution in New York, July, 1946.
He is the founder Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, London and the Honorary President of the International Pediatric Association.
Professor Dogramaci founded and subsequently served as the first President of the Council of Higher Education of Turkey that shaped the modern Higher Education System in Turkey.
Professor Ihsan Dogramaci is the recipient of the Turkish State Medal for Outstanding Merit and the 2007 Honor Award of the Turkish Parliament, The Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
He speaks Turkish, English, French, German, Arabic and Persian and authored over 100 scientific articles, three books, six book chapters and served as the editor of four medical journals.
Professor Dogramaci is married, resides in Ankara and has three children.
