Igor Yaroslavovich "Ice Cold" Vovchanchyn (Russian: Игорь Ярославович Вовчанчин. June 8, 1973) is a Mixed Martial Arts USSR - born fighter. He has had an accomplished career in the PRIDE Fighting Championships, and holds notable wins over Mark Kerr, Yuki Kondo, Gilbert Yvel, Kazushi Sakuraba and Gary Goodridge.

Igor Vovchanchyn was born in Zolochiv, Ukraine in 1973. Igor was world renowned for his fierce fighting skills, and Knockout power.
[edit] Mixed Martial Arts Career
Igor "Ice Cold" Vovchanchyn began fighting in MMA since the first Warrior's Honor tournament and then inaugral International Absolute Fighting Council tournament in Moscow on September 25, 1995. The event consisted of a grueling 32 man tournament in which the winner would have to fight five times in one night. Vovchanchyn won three fights: he faced Adilson Lima twice, (Lima's corner man, Rickson Gracie, complained about the prohibited status of the blow which Vovchanchyn knocked Lima out with, a kick while Lima's knees were on the ground) winning his first fight by knockout, the second the contested knockout vs. Lima, and the third match, against Lima, via technical knockout caused by a broken nose. The fourth fight he lost to Mikhail Illoukhine with an illegal "Chin in Eye" submission. Vovchanchyn continued to fight mainly in the IAFC until switching to PRIDE fighting championship for Pride 4. He won his first match in Pride Fighting Championships with a TKO win over Gary "Big Daddy" Goodridge. After defeating Kazushi Sakuraba (Sakuraba's corner threw in the towel after the first round due to exhaustion after a 90 minute match with Royce Gracie), Igor came in 2nd place in the prestigious 2000 PRIDE Grand Prix. Igor Vovchanchyn is a celebrated PRIDE fighter with victories over Mark Kerr, Valentijn Overeem, and Gilbert Yvel.
