After struggling for almost decades, the Fast Breeder Test Reactor (FBTR) has become 'critical'. Of late, many talented engineers and scientists have resigned from IGCAR. This is not because of the lucrative pay, but because of the unbearable working culture. To quote an example, more than 10 engineers have left Structural Mechanics Section in the recent past in less than 2 years time, because of their inability to cope up with theirs boss. The attitude and working style of bosses drive away talented people from the Centre and many are looking for an opportunity to quit IGCAR.
