IGame

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The correct title of this article is iGame. The initial letter is shown capitalized due to technical restrictions.

The iGame was the April Fool's Day 2006 joke in the April 2006 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly. In the fake article, it was claimed that Apple Computer was releasing a game system that bore much resemblance to its popular iPod product. It claimed that games would be bought and downloaded off the iTunes Music Store. Part of the tipoff to the fact that it was the April Fool's joke was that every part on the picture of the iGame could either be found on the Game Boy Advance SP or the iPod. The big giveaway that it's a hoax is that the first letter of all the games listed in the "Today's Top Games" section of the iTunes inset (on the right hand side of it) in the article spell out "EGMS ARPIL FOOLS".
