Iftekhar (actor)

Iftekhar or Iftekhar Khan was a character actor in Bollywood films, especially known for his roles as police officers in several films.

Iftekhar was a lead actor in his youth during 1940s and 1950s. However, in 1960s and 1970s, he gradually became a character actor and played characters of relative of the lead actors, doctor, judge and police officer. The police officer roles he played ranged from police inspectors to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Police Commissioner etc.
