"If You Wear That Velvet Dress" is the tenth track on U2's 1997 album, Pop. It originated from the Zooropa album sessions.
During the Pop sessions, it was initially not intended to be included on the album but was planned as a B-Side for the "Discothèque" single. Adam Clayton and producer Howie B revised it in the final days before the singles's release so it could be included on the album. [1]
The song was played at nearly every show on the Popmart Tour. It appeared on the video release Popmart: Live from Mexico City. It was released in a lounge music version with Bono and Jools Holland, in 2002.
