Ieud

Ieud is a commune in Maramureş County, in the northern Romania.

The commune was first mentioned in the XIV century, exactly in 1391. The document which mentions this historical event is Codicele de la Ieud . This document was found in the wooden church from Ieud. This church is the oldest wooden church from Maramureş.

The commune is situated in the central part of the Maramureş County, on the banks of Ieudişor, a tributary of Iza river.
