Ieuan Dyfi

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ieuan Dyfi (c. 1461?-1500) was a Welsh language poet.

Very little information has survived relating to Ieuan and his poetry. What seems clear is that is that Ieuan composed a poem to a woman named “Annie Goch” in which he accues how false women were throughout history. This provoked Gwerful Mechain to respond with her poem “Wragedd Eiddigeddus”.
