Ierleaf

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ierleaf was a creation of J.R.R Tolkien, but wasn't published until later after his death by Christopher Tolkien, his son.
He was the first of all the Ents in Middle Earth, derived from the breath of Ysanna.

He is also believed to be the oldest living creature in all of Middle Earth. He actually, stated by the Tolkien's is the oldest living creature that we know of. He is the grandfather tree of the famous Treebeard, of Tolkien's main stories of Lord of the Rings. We know he is father of Treebeard's father tree, Gaithmoon. As since Christopher just released him recently, in the Encyclopedia of Arda, he is not in any of the published works.
