I think you were looking for {{PD-Bangladesh}}, which already exists. There is a link to a short article about BD copyright law of 2000, which is somewhat similar to Indian laws, i.e. photos are in PD after 60 years; govt photos are copyrighted, etc.

Thankyou for decorating the page on Hyderabad, Pakistan with such a priceless piece of photography. This is just to say that your efforts are worthy and hold dear to my heart. [edit] Your edits to Newkirk and PETA

Please bear in mind that all edits must conform to BLP, V, NOR, and NPOV. Your edits violated almost all of them. The Newkirk edits violated BLP, as did your edit summary; the PETA edits used terrible sources, and you can't write that a group has "advance knowledge of terrorist acts." Please review the content policies. Many thanks, SlimVirgin (talk) 15:27, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Your edits to Ingrid Newkirk violate WP:BLP. If you continue to add the same material without explaining the context, you may be reported. Please note that BLP violations are blockable offenses. SlimVirgin (talk) 06:06, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
Idleguy, I'm sorry, but this kind of writing is unacceptable: "Critics of PETA point to this statement, that the organization, like its leader, has double standards in advocating others to refrain from killing animals while have indulged in killing of animals instead of finding a home for it." You can't just leave it there, or keep reverting when others remove it. There are similar problems with your other edits. SlimVirgin (talk) 19:06, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
I don't know what you mean about double standards. I'm talking about the English. This is the English Wikipedia, and the writing has to be of a minimum standard; if you want to quote from good sources, do so, but don't put words in their mouths, and then revert when people tell you the writing is unacceptable. As for POV pushing, you're the only one I can see who doing that by, for example, deliberately leaving out the context of Newkirk's statement about killing animals in the pound. The context casts a completely different light on it. SlimVirgin (talk) 19:25, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your note

Idleguy, before you jump to any conclusions, try to read my edit summaries. I did read your edits and it's very possible that many could be acceptable, if properly presented. The issue is that you must present your information and sources while following WP rules, e.g. WP:V, WP:RS, WP:NPOV, etc. As I suggested in the Talk page, try to create a change set that relies only on acceptable sources; CCF/AnimalScam are not. We may tweak the language if it's not NPOV enough, but proper sources would not be rejected. So please give it a shot, do it the right way, and see what happens. Thanks, Crum375 19:47, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Since you are the one adding to or modifying the article, you should try to create a changeset that relies strictly on acceptable sources. Yes, in theory it's possible for others to modify your edits for you, but it would be much more efficient for you to do it and then for others to just do the final tweaking if needed. Crum375 19:56, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
If the records CCF cites are publicly available, then those would be admissible in principle, but they cannot be cited via CCF. So all you need to do is find the same records via another, admissible, site, or from the originator of the records. Crum375 20:57, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi! I have requested Nichalp to have a look at this language rank problem. [edit] Fair use

For someone supposedly keen on ensuring the image policies are adhered to, you should know that you can't claim fair use of an image (the sniper) recently taken specially for The New York Times, because it is still worth money; and I don't think you can claim fair use for the CNN/PETA shot unless you use it in the CNN article. Thanks for uploading Image:Gnat stamp.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

[edit] License tagging for Image:Karachi04.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Karachi04.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] RIAF Vs IAF

I just reverted the edits made to the Indian air force page. it is a common mistake to assume the IAF was established as the RIAF in 1932. It was set up just as the IAF. It did not get the "Royal" prefix till 1945, so refering to it as RIAF in 1932 is inaccurate. The IAF was RIAF only for the years 1945-1950 jaiiaf 18:20, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Siachen errors

Idleguy, thanks for pointing out that you respect my role as a professional geographer. Unfortunately, your incorrect Siachen edits continue the pattern apparent from above that, at the very least, you are sometimes hurried or careless in your fact checking with some of your edits. Forgive me for "piling on", but you are simply wrong about your Siachen Glacier length....it is 70, not 80 km long, as you are regarding your positions claiming (falsely) Pakistani control over some of the Siachen Glacier and over Gyong La.
Most odd was your reverting to your incorrect facts while:
1) in the case of length, not even noticing the conflicting footnote which you left untouched where I explained the methodology of measuring glacier lengths including 70, not 80km, for Siachen, using:
a. modern satellite imagery such as Google Earth, b. good Russian AND good Swiss maps, and c. a modicum of geographic expertise. I can assure you, having just returned from the Karakoram with GPS and maps in hand and having walked the 2nd longest glacier a bit west of Siachen from end to end, that wild, unsubstantiated, Internet guesses at glacier length for that region are invariably not even close to accurate. I invite you to try this methodology rather than just reverting to a figure that you found on some internet site.
2) in the case of claiming incorrectly that Pakistan controls Gyong La, your idea of contributing to accurate information on this key pass is to delete my entire reference (coordinates, etc.) on its location (taken from any good map of the area including those cited above.) I'm sorry, but deleting someone else's relevant information to disguise your incorrect facts is not going to win you friends in editing Wikipedia entries.
I have corrected these three errors (first paragraph above) again, and I would hope that you continue your obviously helpful edits in many entries and varied topics. But for geographic facts and figures such as these, I am sorry that you may not have the resources that we have in our offices where we follow geographic aspects of locations like the Siachen-Saltoro region very closely and have to "get it right." Thanks in advance for respecting that expertise.
Finally, I have seen some of the dated and/or inaccurate Internet claims that Pakistan controls Gyong La or that the Siachen Glacier (which from longest and uppermost "tributary" to snout is within a few hundred meters of 70 km) is somehow 8 or 10 km longer! So I understand how you may have felt obliged to copy and paste these into the Siachen article, but next time I encourage you to first do some measurements from available sources.
By the way, all of the Internet sources are not wrong. The map at http://im.rediff.com/news/2005/may/26siachen.gif explains that India has, for some time now, controlled the Saltoro watershed ridge crest which includes all three main passes.....It controls everything east of and a bit west of the line shown on that map, leaving all of Siachen Glacier and Gyong La in its control.
And at http://svaradarajan.blogspot.com/2005/06/siachen-solutions-for-taking.html , note the passage: "The purpose of authentication is to ensure that after a withdrawal has been effected, Pakistan will not move back to its old positions or up Gyong La, Bilafond La and Sia La — the three passes along the Saltoro range — to positions currently held by India."
Thanks. --Dlinth (talk) 12:33, 02 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Barren Island.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Barren Island.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. There were two consensuses, including that it could be added to the seperate see also section without crowding the relevant section. To get over that, you deleted the whole see also section. I think you are not trying to meet me halfway here, and moreover assuming ownership over the article. I really can't understand what your objection is. It is a biographical stub, and could be expanded by link from this very relevant page. You are claiming it is insignificant, I am claiming it is interesting trivia and a notable stub that has the chance to improve. Me having created the article doesn't have anything to do with it. [edit] Unspecified source for Image:Army buffalo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Army buffalo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. [edit] Pov to npov

"which was know as "Badmash" by Pakistani pilots due to it's threat to invading Indian who were unable to match up to it's thunder" this was Not meant to state that air superiority was reached. it only meant that INDIAN pilots were fearful of this aircraft due to it's speed. This a open fact ask any pilot or person of the time working with PAF or IAF about this.So how this statement was changing fact it did not at all talked of air superiority.User talk:Yousaf465

I didn't added that "Many of the independent sources, even one of the India military chiefs at that time admitted the total air superiority achieved by the Pakistani air force with in 3 days of the war." line.By invading i meant that this particualr war machine was mostly used over Pakistani airspace so indian were in invading position.

Even your assumption that it was Pakistan which statred the war then your are denying three major pre war events I don't know if Indian mention those events or not but it was India's plan to move into desert.User talk:Yousaf465

The events i was talking about were India's "Unprovoked agression, pure and simple" on Rann of Kutch border. This samll army was ejected from this area.In aftermath of this event Indria Ghandi, announced: "India will respond at a time and place of her own choosing".The next response was In july 1965 in Northern areas along the 1948 cease-fire line where Indians conducted a surprise "surgical operation".The Pakistan responed in haste with Infiltraion of commandos this was only done to divert the Indians from Chamb area although operation Gibra;ltor failed but diversion was succesful and Pakistan second operation area was a relative success. And Indria Ghandhi's place choosen was Lahore and time was early hours of 6 September 1965.It was at 1000 hours on 6th Sept. 1965 that war was declared by Ayub Khan:"this is war".So pl let know the problem with this all.User talk:Yousaf465

It was just her saying so which seems to give this impression. If India has not run into Runn of Kutch had not reveneged it then there couldn't have been any such war!.So who was wrong this way.User talk:Yousaf465

[edit] Image:Buster-douglas.jpeg

Thanks for uploading Image:Buster-douglas.jpeg.

You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mosmof 06:02, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Sugar-ray-leonard.jpeg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Sugar-ray-leonard.jpeg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use.

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. —Angr 07:10, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] India-Israel relations

Since you had contributed to this article earlier, perhaps you can respond to issues raised by a user [5] who is trying to paint Indians as Jew haters[6]. Triedsolve 16:13, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

I don't intent at all to display Indians as Jew haters, I'm just questionning the global validity of that article and its partisan references. At least some of my remarks were true since 2 references have been deleted since. I have many other contestations. Also, another question: according to you, for what reason user Triedsolve does not seem to be able to answer directly ?TwoHorned 15:22, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
