[edit] License tagging for Image:ManaImage.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:ManaImage.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 00:06, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Welcome
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you won't mind too much me restoring the warning left by OrphanBot but it is useful to keep these on your talk page since it allows further warnings to notice if you had already been told about problems such as this one. In particular, since this tag has been placed, you have uploaded a number of unfree images which suggests you readily ignored this notice. Pascal.Tesson 22:30, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fictional characters
I see that today you created a bunch of articles about characters in Bloody Roar. I would kindly ask you to take a look at our guideline for inclusion criteria for articles about fictional characters and strongly urge you to consider moving this content to a Gaming Wiki which is more suited for this kind of content. Most of the content of the articles you put up there is borderline original research which we strongly discourage. Pascal.Tesson 22:30, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. Don't worry about moving stuff to Gaming Wikis. The best idea is to leave the tag I put there and let someone who has more experience from the WikiProject on Computer Games take care of it eventually (note that people from the project will probably be happy to help you with any of this and may very well tell you that I'm wrong! Which is ok of course). Also, note that it's ok to a certain extent to use unfree images but you should be wary at least of adding too many. Cheers and have fun editing. - Please also try to note any disambiguation pages you are linking to when you create a large number of pages. This time it's created a bit of a backup at the Japanese disambiguation page. Dekimasu 06:44, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- Re: your question on my talk page. If you have popups enabled, you can hit preview before sending your edit through. Then roll over the links you've made in the article and see which ones come up as disambiguation pages. That's a lot faster than checking each one individually. You can add popups using the method here if you don't have them: Wikipedia:Tools/Navigation popups. I fixed all of the pages that had problems at the Japanese disambiguation page, so don't worry about what's in the past. (^^)b Dekimasu 12:34, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
