Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest

Iceland has entered the Eurovision Song Contest 18 times since 1986. It did not enter in 1998 and 2002 when they were not allowed to because of weak results the year(s) before. The country has never won the contest, but came very close in 1999 with Selma's song "All Out Of Luck" only to be overtaken by Sweden's Charlotte Nilsson near to the end of the voting.

Iceland has come last twice, scoring 0 points in 1989 and just 3 points in 2001. Selma Björnsdóttir has particapate twice (1999 & 2005) Sigríður Beinteinsdóttir has particapate three times (1990,1992 & 1994)
