Ice Cube Killa
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Ice Cube Killa" is an unreleased track by Cypress Hill responding to the Westside Connection's King of the Hill. This was recorded shortly after The Temples of Boom album which contains the infamous dark track "No rest for the wicked," also an Ice Cube "dis." Although this track was never officially released, approximately 1000 copies were made and distributed to various D.J's. The song itself mostly encompasses references to Ice Cube's build, Mack 10's uncompromised role to defend Ice cube, but also contains B-real's personal view of Ice Cube's alleged copying of his material. The song has the same beat as King Of The Hill adding further disrespect for the Westside Connection as this was usually Ice Cubes style. B-real's close friend L.C also makes an appearance on the track. He was brought in because he raps with a voice like Ice Cube so it sounds like he is dissing himself. Ice Cube and Mack 10 never responded to Ice Cube Killa. The song was never released because it uses the same beat from King Of The Hill and releasing it would have caused many legal battles, and later on the two rap groups made peace. It is considered by some however to be one of the best disses of all time.
[edit] Trivia
- The song is a response to Westside Connections King Of The Hill which in turn is a response to
Cypress Hills No Rest For The Wicked which disses Ice Cube as Westside Connection had not yet formed.
