Icém is a municipality in the northern part of the state of São Paulo in Brazil. It is also known as Princesa do Vale, meaning the Princess of the Valley. Situated next to important urban centers (São José do Rio Preto, Olímpia, Catanduva, Mirassol).

Icém is served by two important highways, the BR-153, and SP-322. Icém has an airport nearby which is situated in the neighboring city of Fronteira, Minas Gerais, 7 km away. The existence of a great dam in the city confers the use of two different types of nautical environment: lacustrine and the river.

There is an immense lake formed for the barrage of the Usina de Marimbondo, of calm and deep waters. This is good for some activities, and the river, below the barrage, with strong rapids in some points, is good for others.

Icém counts on a good basic infrastructure, with the attendance of 100% of the population in services such as electricity, water treatment and sewer and garbage collection. The communication infrastructure is also good, as well as the health care attendance. The city has a low crime rate and has a result of the local culture, since its people is ordeiro cordial and (characteristic of the inhabitants of the small localities of the Paulista interior). The city streets are 100% paved.

The valley of Grande River where it flows near Icém, regularly receives a big group of visitors, people in search of the natural enchantments of the place, interested in fishery, nautical leisure or simply the calmness of agricultural environments.

In Icém, it has: Lago de Marimbondo, Praia Mariana, Desertinho, Rio Grande, to the ebb of the hydroelectric dam named Marimbondo, Complexo da Usininha, Vila da Usininha, Mata da Água Doce, Cânions da Usininha, Braço do Rio Grande and Córrego da Água Doce. From the escape canal from the Hidrelétrica de Marimbondo, Rio Grande has fast-flowing waters. In the edges, rock formations, fine sand bushes and small beaches. It also notices a variety of constructions, some beautiful, others nor in such a way. The variety of the fauna. In air and water, birds of some species enrich the scene. Otters and other animals live in these waters. But the gretest natural wealth is the ichthyological fauna. In the basin of the Great River, the number of species (of fish) registered turns around 170, many of which are considered rare and endemic. The existence of activities that already in the place, as restaurants, campings and professional fishers and facilities.

The evidences demonstrate the possibility of occurrence of agricultural tourism in Icém: diverse farms and small farms, directed toward the agricultural or cattle production, or both, where the agricultural way of life predominates; great open spaces where it find interesting elements.

The events are factors that enrich the city of Princesa do Vale. The city of Icém although is very known in the region to some great centers of the interior of the state, which had to the success that the city comes making in the ballet, soccer and mainly in the festividades of end of year. The main event is Peão de Rodeio de Icém is one of the six events of the small cities of Brazil. [2].

Icém's soccer team, is tri-champion of the Copa Minas-São Paulo. As the festivities at the end of year, the city already turned tradition and all year attracts thousand of great people to attend shows and sports. [3]
