Hi, they look pretty good. One thing to keep in mind though is that only l, n, and m can be syllabic (with the little line under them). k and p are not syllabic in English; instead there's a shwa before them. --Angr (t·c) 05:14, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for your additions of IPA stuff. I fixed an extra ] you left in the Pasco, Washington article, but I'm wondering what the double { brackets are around the IPA pronunciation you put in. It looks like standard coding for a template, but it seems to not work as one. Care to clue in a noob? Alexlockhart 11:25, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

    • Wow, cool! I didn't notice the problem since I use Firefox, but the manual you linked to showed me how bad it would look in IE and what a good workaround the IPA template is. I'm something of an amatuer linguist, so it's neat to see WP providing so well for a good pronunciation scheme, and I'll start adding IPA stuff to articles also.     • That's true; he's an old hand, but lacks a singlemined obsessional personality like myself. Regarding Japan, it looks more like a content dispute than vandalism to me in the most recent set of anon edits (though I might not have looked at the right diffs): be careful of the term "vandalism" - it has a very narrow definition around here. —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 15:58, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

Hello iBook, I was just browsing through wikipedia and I stumbled across your userpage, and noticed your interest in Irish Gaelic. So I thought I'd give you a free breakdown of your userbox on the subject!

Hi, Not sure what the action is here. I originated the achromatic focal curve, drew it myself based on typical achromat C-F color correction and typical green secondary spectrum. I said that it was originated by me (Mike Jones). I will certainly consider responding to your request once I understand what you've asked me to do. thanks for pointing out the current stylebook for pronunciation. I appreciate that. For Spokane, I agree, the IPA should be included and should be first. but I think the "spō-can" example should not be removed and I think it falls under the style guideline of "can include rhymes with, etc." thanks, Catherine --cda 19:46, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
