The model number suggests that the 1442 was originally used with the IBM 1440 system. I have not tried to verify this but suspect it was true. (Original photos of 1440 system were taken at IBM San Jose using a receptionist from the disk dirive lab as the model)Rdmoore6 05:08, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
