This is a template to generate links to the Internet Broadway Database. This template should be used exclusively for SHOWS.

If you need to link a person, use Template:ibdb name; for theatres, use Template:ibdb venue. There is a similiar template to this one, Template:ibdb title, which creates a link to a particular production rather than a show.

[edit] Instructions

  1. Go to IBDB.com and search for the show you want.
  2. Click on the correct link to go to the show's page. Be sure you're getting the right show.
  3. The page URL should look like http://www.ibdb.com/show.asp?ID=#####, where "#####" indicates a number.
  4. Copy ONLY that number (be sure to remove "ID=")
  5. Add to the external links section the text:
{{ibdb show|id=#####|title=Title}}

where "#####" is the number you have copied, and "Title" is the show's title.

[edit] Example

  1. Searching for "The Producers", you'll get to this page: http://www.ibdb.com/production.asp?ID=10610
  2. Copy "10510" and then write:
{{ibdb title|id=10510|title=The Producers}}

The result is: The Producers at The Internet Broadway Database

Note that, since this will almost certainly go on the external link section, you should add a * before the template text to include it as a list item.
