I first started my journey on Wikipedia on May 29, 2006 when I both created my account, and made my first contribution... adding the "School" section to my hometown's article, Temple City.

Sadly however, Summer arrived, school was out, and consequently I turned off my brain, completly forgeting about Wikipedia just so my brain could relax for a short bit. Very stupid move on my part.

I would have forgotten about my account to, and not mention about Wikipedia itself, if it weren't for one of my school acquaintances shouting to his friends as I walked past them, "Hey, I just created a Wikipedia account!" For no reason at all (the brain is weird this way), I immediately blurted out, "Me too!" After the expected 'So?'s, I decided that once I got home, I would return to Wikipedia, a great site that I just happened to have forgotten temporarily.

At home, I tried to access my Wikipedia account, but I had forgotten my password! However, after about ten minutes of in depth pondering, I finally figured it out, and accessed my account.

Warm memories flew through me as I thought about all the things I had done, but suddenly all of that stopped. What should I edit first after my long, long wikibreak? I decided to type in 'Jack Taylor' into the search bar (he's a friend of mine) and almost chuckled when I found this. The article at the time was completely infected with POV statements that it was unbelievable (very scary stuff), so I decided to look at the talk page to see if it was being discussed. There was one entry, a person who couldn't understand why this was an encyclopedia article, so I explained to him that it was POV statements. That can be considered my first contribution after my wikibreak, although my first article contribution was adding the Simple Plan album to Live in Japan (disambiguation).

Even with the contributions I had before wikibreak (there weren't many), I was still a "wikinoob". Luckily, Wehwalt helped me get off on the right foot, so I'd like to give a big shout out to him/her.

Since then, I've been editing normally, and I guess that kind of brings us today. Horray!!!

The following is just some stuff about me, and my good 'ol pal Wikipedia.

[edit] Favorite Wikipedia Articles

As the title suggests, these are some articles that I thought really stood out to me while I was reading them... or I just love the subject matter of them.

In ABC Order

  • .999, explained very thoroughly and a very understandable article overall
  • Death erection, just 'cause
  • Exploding whale, it lightened my day
  • John Kerry, such an honest guy in the first place, and very thorough, not much more to say
  • Mathematical jokes, lol...
  • Simple Plan, not such a great article, but the band's so good, it's still one of my favorite articles
  • Wikipedia, extremely thorough, and explains the topic so perfectly
