[edit] Enlistment date vis-à-bis WWII service in two theatres
I just realized that if he had time to serve in two theatres during WWII, then one would think that he must have been in the military prior to April 1945. Something needs clarification. I suspect that (a) he was in the military prior to April 1945, but did not join the Royal Artillery until then; or (b) the April 1945 date is incorrect; or (c) his service in Asia was not during WWII, but after it. Oh well, if I unearth the details, I'll incorporate them. Lumbercutter 15:46, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] That sounds likely,
but it is also possible that Hogg served in a civillian capacity (i.e. ambulance driver/ merchant navy/ H.M. Coast Guard), etc or simply was intially sent to Europe and after V.E. day, was moved either to the cleanup action agaisnt Japan or to the British component of the occupation of some part of the Japanese Empire. Is there any chance we could get a picture of Ian V Hogg here? Marlon 02:05, 20 November 2006
