Ian Mitchell (Bay City Rollers)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ian Kevin Mitchell (born August 22, 1958, at Downpatrick Hospital, Downpatrick, County Down, Northern Ireland) is an Irish-born guitarist who is best known as a former member of the Scottish pop group Bay City Rollers.

Mitchell joined the Rollers in 1976 at age 17 as a replacement for co-founder Alan Longmuir. Ian's tenure in the group was brief; he remained in the band for less than a year. His guitar and vocal work are heard on the Rollers' hit 1976 album Dedication.

He has also performed with the groups Young City Stars, Rosetta Stone and The Ian Mitchell Band.

Ian Mitchell became a naturalized citizen of the United States on March 25, 2005. Currently, Mitchell owns an entertainment company in Orange County, California with his wife, Wendy-Ann Antanaitis, and performs regularly. He usually uses the name Ian Mitchell's Bay City Rollers; however, Ian is the only former Bay City Roller in his group. The line-up has recently included 1980s glam-rocker Johnny Lust (ex-Dizzy Bitch) on drums.
