Ian McClelland

Ian G. McClelland (born 22 June 1942 in Trail, British Columbia) was a member of the Canadian House of Commons from 1993 to 2000.

McClelland studied Photographic Technology at Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and graduated from there in 1965, then began a business entitled Colorfast Corporation.

He was elected in the Edmonton Southwest electoral district under the Reform party in the 1993 and 1997 federal elections, thus serving in the 35th and 36th Canadian Parliaments. In 2000, just months after his party was renamed the Canadian Alliance, McClelland left Canadian politics as he did not seek a third term in that year's federal election.

In 2001, he was elected to the Alberta Legislature in the Edmonton Rutherford riding. In 2004, after serving his term in the 25th Alberta Legislative Assembly, McClelland was defeated in that riding by Liberal Rick Miller.
