Ian Cook

Ian Cook is senior lecturer in geography at the University of Birmingham. After gaining a teaching position at University of Wales, Lampeter in 1994, Cook finally achieved his PhD in human geography from the University of Bristol in 1997. Today he studies geographies of commodification, often with reference to exotic fruit, at the University of Birmingham. He has also written on the practice of human geography, most notably on the participant observation technique.
