Ian Bird (born March 18, 1970 in Vancouver, British Columbia) is a former field hockey defender from Canada.

Bird started to play at age six, following in the footsteps of his older brothers. He earned his first international cap in 1988 against Great Britain in Amstelveen, The Netherlands. In 1988, following a collision with another player at the 1988 Summer Olympics, Bird developed post-traumatic disorder symptoms which forced him to retire from high level competition. He only resumed playing field hockey in 1996, in time to take part in the 1998 World Cup campaign.
