Ian Bedford

Peter Ian Bedford (1930 – 1966) was an English cricketer.
Ian Bedford made an astonishing start to his first-class cricket career with Middlesex CCC in 1947, as a 17 year old. He returned to club cricket for several years, until he succeeded John Warr as the county captain in 1961.
He played in 65 first-class matches between 1947 and 1962, taking 103 wickets at an average cost of 32.71, with a personal best of 6/52.
He died prematurely following a heart attack, while batting for Finchley at Buckhurst Hill in 1966. He was 36.
