Iain Johnstone

Iain Johnstone (born 1943) is a British film critic.

He was for seven years the film critic for The Sunday Times and presenter of the Film 82 programme (when regular presenter Barry Norman briefly left the job). He was also its original producer.

He went on to produce other British TV programmes such as the BBC2 chat show Friday Night, Saturday Morning.

He co-wrote the movie Fierce Creatures with John Cleese and has made a documentary with Steven Spielberg about War of the Worlds. He has also made numerous other movie based documentaries about A Fish Called Wanda, Dustin Hoffman, Monty Python's The Meaning of Life and Superman The Movie.

He is a biographer of Tom Cruise and Clint Eastwood, and wrote a book companion to the James Bond movie The World Is Not Enough.

His daughter Sophie is engaged to marry the Hon. Edward John Hugh Tollemache as of May 2006 [1] [2]. Edward is the heir apparent of Timothy Tollemache, 5th Baron Tollemache. Sophie Johnstone had a bit part in A Fish Called Wanda at the age of six and presently works in television as a researcher [3].
