"I Wonder" is the second single from Kellie Pickler's debut album, Small Town Girl. The song's official release date is March 5, 2007. Pickler described the song as being about the "relationship that she doesn't have with her mother", because she was abandoned when she was little and raised by her grandfather. Kellie always gets emotional whenever she performs or talks about the song. Billboard magazine described the song as "country music at its finest by one of this year's most impressive young artists."

Pickler was on The View on January 18 and January 19, 2007, where she announced that the single was about her relationship with her mother, and performed "I Wonder" for the first time live. The single received monumental response; Pickler's album climbed from #83 to #51 on the Billboard Top 200. Kellie performed "I Wonder" again on Thursday, March 1, 2007 on American Idol. Like the first time she performed the song, the week following this performance her album jumped from #100 to #66 on The Billboard 200.

I Wonder's music video was shot on March 15, 2007 At Ryman theatre. [1] The music video was released on March 31, at AOL. It starts off with Pickler getting off her tour bus and talking with fans as she enters at Ryman Theatre. After this, we see Kellie singing in a simple stage and, after, shows her walking to her dressing room, where she sees a little girl standing against the wall. She then walks out into the stage and sings. We can see that her emotions are at an alltime high. The song finishes and the video ends with Pickler seeing the little girl and smiling at her. It's a simple video, but it shows Kellie's emotions and frustrations about her mother, Cynthia Morton, but shows how happy she is with all her success.

[edit] Chart Performance

Not surprisingly, after the success of Kellie's Red High Heels, I Wonder is making a quick run up the country airplay chart with its peak so far at number 30. This peak will be sure to rise once it has been shown on CMT, GAC and VH1. As many have thought, it is believed that this song will cement Pickler's place as one of country musics brightest young stars.
