I Wanna Rock
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"I Wanna Rock" is a song from the album Stay Hungry (1984) by the heavy metal group Twisted Sister. It was later covered by punk rock outfit Nancy Vandal. A different song under the same name was played by Dr. John, a blues musician, although the two songs have few similarities. The song was voted in at #20 on VH1's 40 Greatest Metal Songs [1].
[edit] Trivia
In 2004 a parody of this song called "Goofy Goober Rock" was released for The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. The movie sequence spoofed several stereotypes of heavy metal music videos. This song appeared at the end of the movie, with spongebob squarepants singing it to release the fish from plankton, and to save bikini bottom
This song also appeared in the 2002 videogame Grand Theft Auto: Vice City playing on Rock station V-Rock as part of its soundtrack, and on the 2001 album "Twisted Forever", performed by the punk band Lit as an homage to the original version. The song was also featured in the 2000 movie Road Trip.
It was also featured in an advertisement for Avis Car Rental.
Many people accredit Judas Priest or KISS for the song.
