"I Wanna Have Your Babies" is a pop song written by Natasha Bedingfield, Steve Kipner and Wayne Wilkins for Bedingfield's sophomore album, N.B. (2007). The song's musical-style and production was inspired by hip hop music[1], and its lyrics discuss a woman's desire to have babies with her current boyfriend, and presents a pathologically dark side of a relationship that the singer is at pains to conceal from the unwitting would-be father. This deeply psychological twist on the standard "let's be together" ballad is as uplifting as it is disturbing, playing with shades of dark and light, of relational obsession and unfulfilled (and unfulfillable) love. As well as striking a feminist tone, it marks a chilling return to form for one of the UK's most prized singing talents, and reveals a songwriting maturity that was only hinted at on previous releases. On this, her fifth single, Natasha overtakes older brother Daniel in writing songs of depth and meaning, and it is a great precursor to an album rumoured to be 'up there' with Joni Mitchell's Blue and Julia Fordham's Porcelain in terms of its emotional resonance and musical accomplishment. The song was released as the new album's first single in the second quarter of 2007 (see 2007 in music). The song was released as the album's first single in the second quarter of 2007 (see 2007 in music). It debuted on the UK Singles Chart at number twenty-five on April 8, 2007.[2]
In February 2007, the song leaked onto file sharing sites shortly after its premiere on AOL Music. It was featured in the advertisement for Channel 4's New Music Month.

[edit] Music video
The music video was directed by Dave Meyers and filmed in Los Angeles, California in January 2007.[3] The video opens with a scene of Bedingfield working out in a gym with a male instructor. Bedingfield and the instructor are then shown running through a park, when a baby stroller suddenly appears. Frightened, the instructor runs away from Bedingfield and the baby. She is next shown playing tennis and flirting with another man. The two are then shown riding on a boat with a toddler, in a race with another couple. The third scene features Bedingfield at a nightclub flirting with yet another man, before they are shown together at his home. In the final scene, Bedingfield meets a man working at a coffee shop. They are shown in a play room with multiple babies. The video ends with Bedingfield hugging the coffee shop worker, who appears not to be deterred by her thoughts about having babies. The video also features a small cameo by Girls Aloud member Nadine Coyle in the nightclub scene.
The video debuted on Bedingfield's official Bebo page at 8pm GMT on March 6, 2007.
