"I Wanna Be Adored" was the third single from The Stone Roses (LP). It was released in the UK, U.S., Germany, Japan, and Canada. The US edition was released at the same time as Fools Gold in 1989, but did not chart.

"I Wanna Be Adored" was the atmospheric opener to The Stone Roses self-titled debut. The song is propelled by Mani's recognizable bass line, John Squire's droning guitars and Ian Brown's hushed ominous vocals, repeating only a few lines of lyrics throughout the whole song.

The song was first performed live in 1985, during the earliest Roses gigs. It was originally played much faster than its current form. It wasn't until 1987 that the song became the designated concert opener. It would remain at the top of their concert setlists until the Roses disbanded in 1996. The song "I wanna be adored" appears in the movie Welcome to Sarajevo (from 1997). It is also used in the movie Green Street
