"I of the Mourning" is a song by The Smashing Pumpkins which featured on their final official album, Machina/The Machines of God. It was written by Billy Corgan.
It was widely rumoured that "I of the Mourning" would be released as a commercial single, which could be hinted by band's performance of the song on The Late Show with David Letterman, but it was released only as a promotional single. It was the only release from the album that did not include cover art by Vasiliy Kafanov.
"I of the Mourning" was performed live at almost every show in 2000 and featured an extended outro with Corgan endlessly and mournfully singing "radio, radio" over and over.
"Call Out Hook" is a section of "I Of The Mourning" used for radio promotion.
