"I Need Somebody" is the fifth single by Australian pop group Bardot, released in October 2001, and was the second single from their second album Play It Like That. "I Need Somebody", produced by UK hit-maker Ray "Madman" Hedges, would become Bardot's most successful single since Poison, debuting at #8 on the ARIA singles charts, eventually peaking at #5. The success of the single confirmed the groups staying power and boosted their credibility, earning them respect from even the harshest of critics. With its huge bass and dance-influenced style and various club mixes, it gained the group a greater appreciation of club culture, Bardot performing shows at certain nightclubs across the country. "I Need Somebody" was the 59th highest selling single in Australia for 2001.
