I Ching hexagram 51, depicted |::|:: is named 震 (zhen4), Shake. Other translations: R. Wilhelm/C. Baynes, The Arousing (Shock, Thunder); E. Shaughnessy (Mawangdui), Thunder.
- Inner (lower) trigram is ☳ (|:: 震 zhen4) Shake = (雷) thunder
- Outer (upper) trigram is ☳ (|:: 震 zhen4) Shake = (雷) thunder
- The trigrams can be read bottom to top as "With enlightenment (thunder in lower) comes awareness (thunder in upper)"

The following material is drawn from analysis of the binary sequence of the hexagrams where the hexagrams are derived from recursion of yin/yang and so showing a property of the method - the hexagrams are all linked together and contribute to the expression of, the description of, each hexagram.
- The skeletal form of hexagram 51 is described by analogy to the under-exaggerated properties of hexagram 35 where we have a generic focus on bringing 'something' into the 'light'. As such, hexagram 51 covers the 'sudden' emergence of new paradigms that can serve to 'shake' the established, the status quo.
