i-Trac (TM) is a FWD/AWD system by BorgWarner which uses a computer controled clutch pack to turn FWD into AWD when a vehicles wheels start to slip (1). It is used on a number of FWD based AWD systems. Note this system is different in function from transfer case based BorgWarner systems which are used in part time and fulltime 4wd systems. For example Hummer H2, and H3 use fulltime BorgWarner transfer cases (model BW4484) (2).
