[edit] Plot
Skullmaster travels to Zero Island (zero longitude, zero latitude) where Hydra the two-headed dragon balances the forces of light and darkness. Skullmaster tries to upset this balance with a spell from the Lemurian Arcana, but Warmonger does so instead and uses Hydra's power to slay his master. Max and his friends struggle against Hydra's ability to transmute matter, and Virgil ultimately gives Max a sun spell they'd saved from the Arcana which he'd hoped to save for Skullmaster. Max uses it to restore Hydra to normal, only for the island to sink into the ocean. Warmonger limps back to Skull Mountain only to find Skullmaster alive; he allowed Warmonger to do as he did and feigned his death in order to force Max to use up the sun spell's power.
