[edit] Style and Inspiration
Benny Benassi is one of the top 20 DJ's in the world (number 15 as of February 2007), according to the theDJlist.com. He is a euro house/electroclash artist. In Hypnotica, he uses 80s styles as well as his electronic music background. This mixture helped the album to become one of the most popular works in the industry in 2003. Many successful singles were released from the album, such as "Satisfaction", "No Matter What You Do", "Love Is Gonna Save Us" and "I Love My Sex".
[edit] Satisfaction
A success story alone, "Satisfaction" was the first single off the album. The first video clip shot for the song reached to a cult status because the video clip includes only one scene, motionless Benny Bennassi and The Biz look through the camera. The first clip didn't get much attention so Benny Benassi decided to prepare another video clip for Satisfaction. This time, an erotic theme was used. They used female dancers to perform on a stage that looks like a construction site where the dancers are shown as workers. The new clip helped the song reach the peak position on dance music charts.
[edit] Other Hits
After the success of "Satisfaction", Benassi released other hit singles from this album. In "Love Is Gonna Save Us", Benassi uses effective bass and an electronic background riff that becomes louder and louder through the song Lyrics of the song are in essence about the youth of the dance culture of new millennium. According to the vocal, they are lost and found but love is going to save them. Another important single from the album was "No Matter What You Do", a more vocal based song with a repeating and simple background theme. The song looks like a conversation between an examiner and a test subject but we only hear the examiners voice. Also, "I Love My Sex" was a successful single in Europe and basically in clubs. Seems like a more trance type song but still has the characteristic style of Benassi in it.
