Hello, everybody!
[edit] Who am I?
This is David Simons, a student from Chelmsford, Essex. It's quite a big town and I like it very much. My mum came from Arbroath, and my two siblings were born in Scotland. I would be a member of the Thomson Clan were I still living up there. My Dad was born in Sale, and his side of the family still live in that area. In fact, he would too were it not for the fact that he had to leave due to his job at the Ministry of Defence.
I'm currently 16, and back at school studying for my AS Levels at KEGS. I'm going to learn Mathematics, Physics, German and English; which should be fun. Modesty was never my strong point, so I'm not going to say I'm expressly bad ay any of them.
I could give you a lengthy description of my family, but I'm more inclined just to tell you that I h ave a big one involving a brother, sister, niece, nephew and many aunts, uncles and a grandparent. I get on well with all of them, and i meet them frequently. They're spread out around the country, from Inverness to Sale to Hertford.
[edit] What are my interests?
In terms of music, I'm a big fan of Alternative Rock, especially the bands Travis, Fountains of Wayne and Green Day. I am also partial to a bit of classical music, my favourites being the neo-classical such as Secret Garden; but also the Romantic composers such as Liszt and Wagner; as well as Baroque, such as Vivaldi. I dislike very few musicians, but those that fall under that category are Bob Dylan and Woodie Guthrie.
In terms of other interests, I like computing, obviously, and can programme well. I can use Visual Basic, Macromedia Flash, Javascript, HTML and am currently trying to learn Java and PHP.
I am a keen mathmetician, in terms of school mathematics, but also the Olympiad Mathematics. In fact, I have recently come back from a summer school, in The Queen's College, Edgbaston that I was allowed to go on due to doing well in the International Maths Olympiad, as well as the British Mathematical Olympiad. It was great fun, meeting loads of people who share a common interest, stretching myself but also making a number of new friends.
In terms of sport, I can't really say I follow any one particularly strongly. I used to partake in the school's Rugby club, but recently fell out of practice. I follow Cricket and Tennis on the television, but haven't paid as much attention to the major championships this year and last, especially because of the other things going on, in terms of having far too much on my plate.
[edit] Contact Me
Want to contact me? I'm not going to state any details due to circulating Spambots, but if you want to get in touch with me to talk about life, or about something related to Wikipedia, drop me a line on my talk page, which I'll try to read regularly, if I remember.
