[edit] Plot summary
Midsummer 9:17 PM on Franklin Road the gang is driving around in Eric's Vista Cruiser when boredom sets in. Kelso suggests that they should go skinny dipping at the local reservoir, and they all agree. As they skinny dip, their clothes are stolen, and all of them get back in the Vista Cruiser naked. Hyde and Kelso see that Fez has a noticeable tattoo. Eric does not want to drive to his house because of what happened. Hyde tells Eric to drive to his house instead since there is nobody home, because his mother ran off with a trucker.
Meanwhile at the Formans, Red explains to Kitty that they have to watch their money because the plant will be closing soon, and he will be out of work. Midge throws a feminist party for the women of Point Place. Bob meets a woman that he really likes, Sharon, because she's not very feminist and caters to him, and tries to keep it to himself. Soon it gets to him and he ends up wearing a leisure suit the second time the woman comes.
The gang arrives at Hyde's house, the guys find some clothes to wear, Donna and Jackie try to find some of Hyde's moms' clothes, but Jackie thinks that Hyde's moms' clothes are "whorey". She later feels sick and asks Kelso to take her home. Hyde says that it's not a problem if any of them want to stay at his house.
Kelso comes to visit Jackie when she is sick. Jackie tells Kelso to go away because she has no make-up on. When Kelso then sees Jackie, he goes into a demented stage, screaming in horror. In the Formans' basement, Eric convinces Red to let Hyde stay for dinner. Red hesitantly gives the OK, with the thought of splitting a pork chop between the two of them.
Eric goes over to Hyde's house the next day. Eric finds out Hyde's mom is not coming back after an overheard phone conversation, and getting it out of Hyde himself. Eric tries to figure something out in the Circle with Kelso, Fez, and Donna. He tries to explain Hyde's situation to them, but nobody really seems to recognize it because everything that is said becomes irrelevant.
Eric decides to tell his parents. Kitty and Red seem to understand, so they take a trip over to Hyde's house. The house is a mess, making Kitty feel bad for Hyde. She tells Hyde to go get a load of laundry for her to do for him. Hyde squeezes into his room and gets the laundry while Kitty talks to Red. She suggests to call social services. Red agrees. She starts sobbing after she mentions that the services have too many cases where they have to house the orphans in gymnasiums with no heat. Red goes into an angry-but-accepting state of being as he goes off swearing. He tells Hyde to pack and get in the car.
Kelso tells Jackie he's sorry for screaming. He tells her that, even though she looks really disgusting now, she will return to being beautiful because her mom is beautiful, and that real physical beauty lasts forever. Jackie then forgives him and leans for a kiss but he tells her, "Later."
Hyde begins living with the Formans, even though he is mad at Eric, telling him he would have been fine on his own. Kitty brings down cocoa and cookies for the two of them hanging out in the basement. Kitty now likes to think she has "two sons". The episode ends with Fez showing off his "dancing tattoo" on his butt over the credits which apparently is incredible and disgusting.
