Hy Eisman

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hy Eisman (born March 27, 1927) is an American cartoonist. He is the current (as of 2006) writer and artist of the Sunday strips The Katzenjammer Kids and Popeye - though it seems that many of today's Katzenjammer Kids strips are re-used strips from a decade or so back.

He has worked in the comic strip business since 1950, on strips such as Kerry Drake, Little Iodine and Bunny. He took over the The Katzenjammer Kids in 1986 and the Popeye Sunday strip in 1994. Eisman has been a teacher at the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art since 1976.

He won the 1983 National Cartoonists Society Award for Best Comic Book.
