Hwang Kee

Hwang Kee (황기, Hwang Gi) (November 9, 1914 - July 14, 2002) is a founding member of the modern Korean martial arts. He is the founder of the system known as Soo Bahk Do Tang Soo D Moo Duk Kwan.
[edit] The Foundations of Tang Soo Do
The foundations of what is commonly known as Tang Soo Do are stated to be Soo Bahk Ki and Tae Kyun. These are two ancient systems of self-defense indigenous to Korea. The techqniues of these systems were combined with other fighting principles including: Northern and Southern Chinese Kung Fu in association with the moral guidelines and philosophy principles of of Do (Tao), No Ja (Lao Tzu) and Lee Do Ja (Confucius).
