Hvalsey (Danish Hvalsø, Greenlandic Qaqortukukooq) is a location near Qaqortoq, Greenland and the site of a number of Greenland's best preserved Norse ruins in what was known by the Norse as the Eastern Settlement, all of which were abandoned after 1408 AD, after approximately 450 years of habitation.
