Huwei

Huwei Town (Chinese: 虎尾鎮; pinyin: hǔwěi zhèn; literally "tiger tail town") is a city in Yunlin County, Taiwan, with a population of about 67,000. Its seventeenth century name is Favorolang.


Huwei Town was considered the " City of Sugar Production(糖都)" during the Japanese occupation period in Taiwan (1895~1945). The sugar plant has since closed.
