Hutchinson High School is located in Hutchinson, Kansas in Southcentral Kansas. The enrollment for 2006-2007 is approximately 1,400 students. The current principal is Ron Roehm, and the assistant principals are David T. Patterson, David L. Patterson, and Sheri Hart.

Hutchinson High School (HHS) is the only public high school in the city limits of Hutchinson, KS. The school mascot is the Salt Hawk and the school colors are blue and gold.
Hutchinson High School is known recently for their athletic performances. The Salthawks are back-to-back-to-back 6A state champions in football, having won the state championship in 2004, 2005, 2006 and state runners up in 2003. The Salthawk basketball teams have won boys championships in 2001, 1975, and 1974, and girls championships in 1985 and 1976. The Salthawk boys golf team have won state championships in 2005, and 1995. The Salthawks Wrestling team has won state titles in 1973, 1982, 2002 and 2003, making it the most successful sport in Hutchinson High School history. The boys track and field team has state titles from 2000 and 2004.
HHS also has a rich tradition of excellence in Debate and Competitive Speech (Forensics): -National Student Congress Champion (1984 and 1985) - Brad Young -International Extemp Fourth Place (1986) at NFL Nationals - Brad Young -United States Extemp Seventh Place (2003) at NFL Nationals - Michael Bretches -Debate: Fourth Top Speaker (2003) at NFL Nationals - Michael Bretches -Debate: Fifth Place (1996 and 1997) at NFL Nationals - Ben Walker and Courtney Nunns -Debate: Tenth Place (1997) at NFL Nationals - Patrick Thiessen and Natalie Foster -Thirteen NFL All-Americans since 1986 and 75 NFL National Qualifying Students since 1972 -Seven Debate and Seven Individual Event State Championships including the 5A debate state championship in for 2006-2007.
