Hutcheson Stakes
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Hutcheson Stakes is a race for thoroughbred horses run in late winter at Gulfstream Park. It is a prep to the Fountain of Youth Stakes, the Florida Derby, and the Kentucky Derby. This Grade II event is at a distance of seven and one half furlongs on the dirt open to any three-year-old horse and offers a purse of $150,000. Both Gato Del Sol and Spectacular Bid would captured the Hutcheson on their way to winning the Kentucky Derby.
