Hurd's Deep or Hurd Deep is a deep underwater valley in the English channel. After World War II the allies dumped 5,000 tons of ammunition(some radioactive) in this part of the channel and it is still an ongoing environmental concern. It is the final resting place of HMS Affray which sank into the deep in 1951.
