Hunsbury

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hunsbury is a modern suburban housing development in the south of Northampton.

Once the site of an Iron Age hill fort, the area today consists of 1980's and 1990's suburban housing and boasts green spaces including Penvale Park, Hunsbury Country Park and Grange Wood. Junctions 15 and 15a of the M1 motorway serve the area and many Hunsbury residents utilise these good transport links to commute to Milton Keynes and London. Collingtree Golf Course borders the eastern edge of the conurbation, whilst the busy M1 motorway can be seen (and heard) in West Hunsbury.

Recent gang activity between youths (ages 14 - 21) has drastically increased in Hunsbury and the surrounding areas. The 'NN4' appear to have the upper hand, holding more ground and members than any other groups, including the 'Briar Hill Boys' and 'NN5'. As tension heats up so do the number of incidents, with member of all groups involved in violence, although 'NN4' haven't suffered any injuries. Rumours speculate that there is a group of people behind the 'NN4' group, almost like leaders, helping them gain notoriety through strategic engagements with other groups.
