The Red Lion is a popular pub in Huncote. This is just as well as it is Huncote's only pub. Drinking of any other form of alcohol than Stella is guffawed at, which does very little to deter bad behaviour such as public urination or arguing as to who the last winner was on the pool table. In the olden days, the Lion was also the home of Huncote's swinging scene, where couples could participate in wife swapping by placing a wedding photo on a noticeboard.

The park, although intended for child use, has been claimed in the last ten years by Huncote's disenchanted youth (affectionately known locally as 'little scrotes'), who choose to spend their evenings drinking Diamond White and smoking cannabis. In the past it was widely known that the source for the booze was the Video Shop, located conveniently below the flat of a number of known local drug barons. Nowadays the location of good smoke is a bit more sketchy.
