[edit] Regeneration?
The Radio Times suggested that this story would tell of the Doctor's regeneration from 8th to 9th, but I'd guess this is a mistake on their part. Is there any more info on this aspect, or do we just wait and see? Kelvingreen 20:44, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- Not gonna happen. John Ainsworth (BF producer) posted on Outpost Gallifrey's Forum here that the Radio Times got the wrong end of the stick:
OK. I'm sorry if this disappoints anybody but I think it's important to put the facts straight. The new series of Eighth Doctor adventures that will be broadcast on BBC7 and subsequently released on CD by Big Finish do NOT lead up to the Doctor's regeneration in to his Ninth incarnation. Christopher Eccleston will NOT be appearing. The Time War is NOT mentioned or featured in any of the eight episodes.
I can't explain the piece in the Radio Times but I suspect it wasn't intended to be taken quite so literally. For 'leading up to his regeneration...' read 'set prior to his regeneration...'.
Although we haven't categorically stated it anywhere, Big Finish are working on the assumption that these new adventures are set after the time the Eighth Doctor has spent with Charley and C'rizz. However, there are plans to record further adventures with Charley and C'rizz. - Hope that clarifies things. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 04:09, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
- Indeed it does. I thought it was a long shot, as we'd have heard more about it by now if it were to happen. Thanks for clearing that up. Is it worth mentioning the Radio Times gaffe in the article? Kelvingreen 01:01, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm... I don't think so, myself, but if others think it should go in I suppose it could. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 03:34, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

- Just to add to this discussion - in the Beyond the Vortex short that followed the last episode of Human Resources, they said that there were no plans at all to do the crossover from Paul McGann to Christopher Eccleston. It would be extremely difficult to script something like that. Also, if they don't want to bring McGann's era to a close, as there is a lot more that they wish to do with his Doctor. As an aside, they do talk a bit about the canonicity of the Big Finish productions of Doctor Who. Might it be an idea to add a bit about this in the article, particularly as there is a standard phrase about how it is unclear?StephenBuxton 17:08, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
