Humera

Humera (also Himera, Ge'ez ሁመራ hūmerā) is a town in northern Ethiopia, near the borders of Sudan and Eritrea with a latitude and a longitude of 14°18′N, 36°37′E. Although administratively part of the Mirabawi Zone of Tigray, Humera is located in the Wolqayt-Tsegede area, which historically has been part of the province of Begemder.

Based on figures from the Central Statistical Agency (CSA) of Ethiopia published in 2005, Humera has an estimated total population of 24,309, consisting of 13,721 men and 10,588 women.[1]

Humera is served by Humera Airport (ICAO code HAHU, IATA HUE).
