Human Waste Project was an Alternative Metal band from Huntington Beach, California with Aimee Echo on vocals, Mike Tempesta on guitar, Jeff Schartoff on bass, and Scott Ellis on drums. They released their album E-lux in 1997 and broke up soon after.
[edit] History
Friends Jeff Schartoff and Scott Ellis, while on the way to Lollapalooza, decided to start a band. They then drafted Aimee Echo as vocalist after asking if she could scream. John Monte joined as guitarist but did not last long and they went through a string of guitarists before finding Mike Tempesta. The group began opening for large name bands such as Sublime, Helmet, the Deftones, and Korn and struck a deal with Hollywood Records. They were invited to be on the UK Ozzfest in 1997. Their last show was at the House of Blues in Los Angeles on July 8, 1998.
