Drawn by myself (Max Smith).

This diagram shows the Hide, Turret-down and Hull-down positions that a tank may adopt. The tank shown on the right is an M1 Abrams with a maximum gun depression of about -10 degrees. The tank in grey further to the left is a T-72 which can only depress to -5 degrees, and is forced to adopt a more exposed position as a result.
